Task 3
Task 3: Counting/Subitizing
In this beginning number task, children place objects on a booklet as they count aloud.
The booklets show models for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 quantities and help children become familiar with what quantities 1 – 5 “look like.”
Students are also encouraged to look at the models and subitize (i.e., name the quantity without counting).
